Katie Lane’s TROUBLE IN TEXAS blog tour!

What do you feel makes cowboys and Texas so enduring to readers?

KATIE: Cowboys are alpha men who are honest and hard working.  Texas is filled with small towns that take us back to a simpler life that’s far removed from the hustle and bustle of big cities.

How hard is it to write a series? and how many will be in this series?

KATIE: The easy part is that you have most of the characters already.  The hard part is keeping the characters fresh and interesting.  Bringing in Miss Hattie’s Henhouse was my way of keeping things fresh in the Deep in the Heart of Texas series.  I didn’t really set out to write a series.  I just had this idea about a woman searching for her long-lost twin sister.  But once I finished Going Cowboy Crazy, I realized that I had a lot of ideas that might work for other books.  Fortunately, people fell in love with Bramble and I’m getting my opportunity to write those stories.  As of now, there will be seven books in the series.  Beau’s story, Flirting with Texas, will be out in July 2013.  Brianne’s story will be next.  And finally, Beckett’s.  After that, who knows :o)

List five words to describe your writing style?

KATIE: Fun.  Sexy.  Zany.  Character-driven.  (Does a hyphenated word count as two?)

Thank you, Katie, for taking the time out of your busy schedule to visit with us and our readers today! What a pleasure to have you with us again.

Inheriting the most notorious house of ill repute in Texas can spell trouble for a girl’s reputation . . . especially when she’s Elizabeth Murphy, Bramble’s prim and proper librarian. Yet when she discovers a buck-naked cowboy handcuffed to a four-poster bed, she forgets all about the town gossips. Elizabeth has sworn off men, but the stranger’s kisses melt her resolve faster than ice cream on a hot summer day.
Waking up in Miss Hattie’s Henhouse isn’t how Brant Cates reckoned on getting to the bottom of his great-granddaddy’s murder. The plan was to solve the centuries-old crime, then get the heck out of Dodge. But after meeting Elizabeth and discovering that the buttoned-up beauty is a sexy siren in disguise, he just can’t pull himself away.
Now Brant needs Elizabeth to finally put his past to rest, but is she willing to risk her future on Bramble’s newest bad boy?

About Katie Lane:

Katie Lane’s interest in romance was sparked in high school in the backseat of a ’65 Mustang-okay, so maybe it wasn’t romance as much as raging teenage hormones. Still, coupled with a wild imagination, those make-out sessions inspired many a steamy storyline along with a strong belief that true love does prevail. Katie lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with the owner of that Mustang and would love to hear from her readers.

  1. Cowboys are a dying breed but even the modern day version is hardworking, sexy and someone who can be counted on in a tough spot to help out. They have a “mystique” about them that is hard to explain but makes perfect sense to the woman lucky enough to land one of her own!
As a lover of all things Texan and someone who lives close to LaGrange Texas where the famed “chicken ranch” was outside of the book tweaked my attention long ago and would love to have a copy of Trouble In Texas so thank you for a chance.

  2. Cowboys work hard and play hard. They give everything their all. They are the first ones to help out in a crisis and you can tell how they will treat people by the way they treat their momma, their horse, and their dog.
Congrats on the new release.I love this series and can't wait to read Trouble in Texas. Thanks for the giveaway.

  3. Cowboys are one of my favorite types of heroine. They are raised to believe that real men are tough and show no emotions, so it's hard to break through that shell. I love when the right woman breaks down all their barriers. I love me some cowboy heroes. It's so fun watching them fall. 🙂

  4. Cowboys are a blend of strength, a strong work ethic, old fashioned principles and values that extend into the 21st century. Thank goodness for cowboys who exemplify the best virtues in a man. Long live cowboys who I revere.

  5. Cowboys are a rare breed of man who deserve respect and recognition. they give me hope for the future since they are real men who know how to treat people and animals. Cowboys are my idols and I enjoy the old Westerns which depicted cowboys beautifully.

  6. Bramble…great name!
I don't read a lot of westerns, though I do enjoy them. Every now and then a cowboy just hits the spot. They are gentlemen in a time when most men aren't. There is something about a man who's occupation involves physical labor…thus the hot cover that fits so perfectly. They make you imagine what it would be like to be held by those hands.

  7. I love reading about modern cowboys because they're a reminder of a simpler time – working with their hands, riding horses, wearing their chaps, cowboy boots and hats. And they're sexy as all get out. 😀

  8. Love their bravery, hard working skills, and nice pair of wranglers!!! These are the boys that fill your heart with so much happiness and the ones that you love immediately! Love me some cowboys.
