Here’s the link to a video in which Susan chats about Ford Hendrix of THREE LITTLE WORDS

When I was younger, I had a deep and abiding love for a celebrity who shall remain nameless. I wasn’t the kind of girl to hang his picture in my locker or cover my room with his posters – ours was a private love. I grew up in LA, and my dad worked in TV, so I was convinced that my one true love and I would one day meet. And when we did, I didn’t want him to think that I was like the millions of silly girls who had a crush on him. They didn’t know him. I did. My love was real, and as soon as we met, he would recognize me as his soulmate.

Back then, I didn’t tell anyone how I felt because our love was sacred. Today, I still won’t confess his name because, frankly, I’m embarrassed. What was I thinking?! He wasn’t very smart, only marginally cute, and he ran like a girl. (There’s your one hint – he was on a TV show that required running. And he had dark hair. Two hints, but that’s it.)

In THREE LITTLE WORDS, my latest Fool’s Gold romance, Isabel Beebe knows all about embarrassing crushes, though hers wasn’t on a celebrity. When Isabel was 14, she had a crush on Ford Hendrix, her sister’s then-fiancé. Worse, Ford knew how she felt because when her sister broke up with him, Isabel chased after him, sobbing, begging him not to leave. And when he joined the Navy, she wrote him dozens of long, impassioned letters.

Over the years, her letters became less like teenage love letters and more like a “Dear Diary” kind of thing, but that brings its own special twist of humiliation. Because now Ford is back in Fool’s Gold to open a bodyguard-training facility, and this dangerously sexy ex-Navy SEAL knows all her most embarrassing secrets. He knows about her first kiss. He knows when she lost her virginity and where (*cough* inthebackofatruck *cough*).

All summer, Isabel has been ducking around corners to hide from Ford, but as THREE LITTLE WORDS begins, she’s decided that enough is enough. Fool’s Gold is too small for her to avoid him forever, especially since he just rented the place next door.

  1. It's embarrassing to admit that I don't remember any teenage crushes. Based on what I do remember of my growing up years, I probably kept it to myself.

  2. My teenage crush was on Donny Osmond. I had all of his albums. Love the story Of Isabel and Ford.

  3. This is my favorite Fool's Gold book so far!!! I am so glad that Isabelle finally found love with Ford, she waited long enough!!! You never forget your teenage love!!

  4. I don't remember any teenage crush – could be because I attended an all girls school and wasn't into music. If I did have a crush, it would have been a character I read about in a book.

  5. don't remember the teen years much just that i did have a crush on one of my borhters basketball players-the same team. i realized soon that they were in a different leagues LOL

i still have not read #5 of fool's gold but had paid for several others for my birthday gift this year.
I love this series and just when I think I've read the best another one comes out and it's even better.

  6. I had a lot of celebrity crushes as a teenager. Heck, I still have a crush on Bruce Willis. Unfortunately, now that I'm in my 30s I'm apparently too old for him now! LOL! Loved Three Little Words and so happy Susan is continuing this series.

  7. It's a another summer hit that sizzles by Susan Mallery!

Wow, talk about having a wonderful summer! Susan Mallery does it again with Three Little Words. How could you not love Ford Hendrix and Isabel Beebe? They have to be some of her best characters yet. Isabel was in love with Ford when she was just 14 years old and he was engaged to her sister. After things fell through with Isabel's sister Ford leaves Fool's Gold for the Navy and doesn't return till many years later. You could say fate has brought them back into town at the same time and allows Isabel her chance at her first and only love. This book also gives you the story about Consuelo and Kent Hendrix with their story. What a wonderful book and a great way to end the summer!

  8. I don't really have any embarrassing teenage crushes, just the singers from boybands like NSYNC, Backstreetboys!

  9. No crazy crushes for me! Love the Fool's Gold series, it's my favorite, there are great characters, inspiring stories and hilarious moments. Loved the touch of the love letters that Isabel sent to Ford, she was so embarassed by them and they actually kept Ford focused when his world was crazy in the Seals, a sweet touch that he had kept everyone of her letters, and they were well read!

  10. my teenage crush would have to be N'YSNC.

Loved the Fool's Gold Series books and especially this one! Can't wait to see what she has instore for the next couple books!

  11. Elvis was always safe.. It has been a great summer in Fools Gold and finishing up with Three little Words is the icing on the cake. Isabel and Ford discovering each other within the safety of their ‘fake relationship’ is priceless. And for me the 2 for 1 relationship just made my day. I love this book. Everyone should read it.

  12. This book was wonderful and was a great way to finish this summer's Fool's Gold series! Isabel and Ford are just perfect together and I just love the chemistry between them!

  13. Always love returning to Fool's Gold. It is like returning home!! I love starting my summer reading a new Fool's Gold book!! Just One Kiss, Two of a Kind, & Three Little Words are all great books to read.
