#GIVEAWAY AND #VISIT WITH VICTORIA ROBERTS,”X MARKS THE SCOT”…

MBA&M IS SO EXCITED TO HAVE HISTORICAL SCOTTISH ROMANCE AUTHOR…

**VICTORIA ROBERTS**

~ PRESENTING ~~

“X MARKS THE SCOT”

X Marks the Scot Final

It’s wonderful to be back at My Book Addiction. Thanks so much for having me.

You are so welcome, we love having you! Thanks for stopping by!

So without further ado, here is VICTORIA ROBERTS…..

MBA&M: Please tell our readers a little about yourself, for those who may not know you?

VICTORIA: I’m a hard-working mother of two, married to my own knight for almost twenty years now, and author of Scottish historical romance. Home is in western Pennsylvania, but my heart is in the Highlands. Pun intended.

MBA&M: What was your inspiration behind X MARKS THE SCOT?X Marks the Scot Final

VICTORIA: My darned muse likes to jump ahead. X Marks the Scot was in the making while I was writing Temptation in a Kilt. Declan MacGregor’s character was loosely based on Ian Somerhalder’s character on The Vampire Diaries, Damon Salvatore. Although Declan sometimes takes it a bit more over-the-top than Mr. Salvatore, deep down, the man has a big heart and I think readers will recognize that, too.

MBA&M: What do you think the allure of Scottish warriors, Highlanders and Scotland have on readers today?

VICTORIA: The allure of any book is a means of escape. For me, it’s the bonny Highlands. Who wouldn’t want to stroll along the heather-draped landscape? The countryside alone is breathtaking. Add a few Highland lairds in kilts and a couple of feisty heroines and you have a steamy romance of epic proportions.

MBA&M: Give our readers some insight into writing an authentic Scottish tale.

VICTORIA: Kilts. Did I happen to mention kilts? All jesting aside, Scottish people are proud, determined. Honor and chivalry is a must. I try to incorporate some of that beautiful Scottish brogue as well as add a wee bit of Gaelic flair. I think readers appreciate the time it takes to do that and it makes the story a bit more realistic.

MBA&M: Now, let’s get to some tough stuff, how hard is it to write the sensual scenes in your stories?

VICTORIA: I think every author has to do what they’re comfortable with. X Marks the Scot had sensual scenes that were a bit more explicit than Temptation in a Kilt, but that’s to be expected when you’re writing about a Highland rogue such as Declan MacGregor. But I wouldn’t put anything in the book that I wasn’t comfortable writing or reading about myself. As far as the difficulty writing the scenes, it comes naturally after a while, especially when your hero only thinks about the lasses.

MBA&M: Can you give our readers some background on this series?

VICTORIA: The Bad Boys of the Highlands series follows Laird Ciaran MacGregor, his brother Declan, and Laird Alexander MacDonell who are driving King James crazy with their constant clan battles and uproarious way of life.

MBA&M: What are three words you would use to describe your writing style?

VICTORIA: Passionate. Heartfelt. Adventure.

Thanks so much for having me today.

Thank you, Victoria, for spending with us and your passionate Scottish Warrior!!

X Marks the Scot FinalX Marks the Scot Blurb:

He was a Highland Rogue—Wicked with a Bow and Arrow and Just as Wicked with the Ladies.

Declan MacGregor hadn’t a care in the world beyond finding a soft bed and a willing woman…until he had to escort Lady Liadain Campbell to the English court. The woman needles him at every turn, but he can’t just abandon her to that vipers’ nest without protection.

She Never Asked for a Bodyguard…

Liadain wasn’t thrilled to be left in the care of her clan’s archrival. It was as if the man never had a lady tell him no before! And yet as whispers of treason swirl through the court and the threat of danger grows even sharper, her bitter enemy soon becomes the only one she can trust…

  1. reading and chocolate. Preferably together 🙂 throw in a smexy alpha male too… 😉 thanks! sstogner1 at gmail dot com

  2. I long to write Celtic romance, but I will settle for reading your bad boys. My addiction? I'd have to say a good cup of coffee while snuggling up to read a Scottish romance.
Best of luck to you on the series, but I don't think you'll need it.

    1. Hi Sandy. Great to see you here. You're far too kind. I agree with you though. Snuggling up with a great book is a great thing. Thanks for stopping by.

  3. Easy answer here. Reading (and books in general) is my big addiction. Follow that with a glass of sparkling water (while reading) and I'm as happy as a clam!

    1. Chocolate is verra hard to resist, Joy. My sister often travels to Belguim for work and brings us back chocolate. You want to talk about delicious! *sigh*

    1. Aww… I love getting high praise from you, Eliza, especially since your own kilted heroes are quite desirable. 😉

    1. Well, I hope you enjoy this Scottish bad boy, Sheila. Declan's so good and being so verra bad!

  4. Victoria, do you watch Saturday Night Live? Ever seen the Nick Cage skit? "That's high praise!" I love that one, makes me laugh every time. So I giggled when I saw your comment. Totally deserved my dear, keep 'em coming! And thank you! I'm glad you like my heroes too 🙂

    1. And do you plan on returning to the US in the spring? I think I'd just pack my back and stay there, Andrea. Maybe if we all pitch in we can buy a castle. With male servants. In kilts. *sigh*

  5. My biggest addiction is historical romance novels. I devour them like candy on Halloween. I know I'm going to love Declan's story. I can't wait to read it!

  6. Victoria, you must be flying high with such wonderful ratings. Beautiful book trailer. I'll have a wonderful read, soon.

My favorite now days is Jack in the Box tacos. I'm allergic to most everything in them like tomatoes and corn shells but for some reason I can eat them occasionally. Now they are in KC only two hours away. I love the crunchy sound of the shell with the textured protein (seriously), cheese, and lettuce.

Chocolate is a much better vice, but I'm just too allergic to it for the pleasure vs. pain benefit.

Declan is wonderful for a manly man name. My friend's nephew just became the first Declan I'd ever heard so named.

Much success on a great book. jean

    1. Aww… Thanks so much, Jean. I love tacos, too.

What a sweet name for a wee lad! Let's just hope your friend's nephew is not like the bad boy rogue in the book. lol

  7. Hope I'm not too late to the party! Congrats on this awesome release, Victoria. I love your Bad Boys, and I hope you have a few more lined up to entertain us. My worst/best addiction is dunking Scottish shortbread into a cup of good strong Irish tea and devouring both. Must avoid the shortbread, all that butter, but it's sooooooo good! Best to you and your writing, lass!

    1. You're not too late to the party. Thanks for stopping by. I LOVE Scottish shortbread. Addicting, is it not?

  8. I have several addictions. Reading, getting lost on some back country road in the mountains, coffee and cigarettes. The last one I'm working on curbing though somewhat slowly but the others are addictions that will stay with me for life.

I will have Declan in my hands next Tuesday. I am going book shopping to give myself a treat for my B-Day and he is at the top of my list! 🙂

  9. Books have been my addiction for the longest time. My TBR pile, both print and digital keeps growing. Now I have two more books to add!

  10. My biggest addiction is definitely books. I just can't seem to stop bringing them home, it's a sickness really. 😀

  11. My biggest addiction? BOOKS!!! That where all my mad money goes in supporting my addiction. I spend way too much time escaping into books…especially Scottish Highlanders in kilts with a toe curling brogue ;-). I've just stumbled onto your books and they are now on my list to get when I see them in the stores! Thanks for the trip to Scotland.

    1. Books are very addicting. I love to escape, especially to Scotland. I hope you enjoy my Bad Boys' series.

  12. Ha, that is easy. Books. I am utterly and hopelessly addicted to reading books. Can't get enough, the highs and the lows all wrapped up in pretty covers. Like the cover of X marks the Scot. So handsome!!

    1. Books are very addicting, Lexi. My CP actually has an entire basement full of them. I keep telling her that her house is a fire hazard. lol I'm glad you like the cover. I agree. He's verra handsome.
