Jade Lee’s hot Bridal Favors series is set in a daring, high-energy Regency world where deep longings, secret scandals, and the competition for social stature are all set against the glittering weddings of the season.

Grant Benton, Earl of Crowle finally has the funds he always pretended to have and what he wants now is a woman. That woman is Lady Irene Knopp, who spends her days helping debutantes plan their weddings. A recent widow, Irene longs for love again, but she’s afraid to risk her heart, especially to the notorious Grant Benton.

Welcome, Jade to MBA&M!!

MBA&M:  Why write about London society?

JADE: What’s not to love? As I kid I was enchanted by the balls and the ingénue entrancing the wealthy, sexy lord.  As I grew older, I love the struggles of women to have identities despite the restrictive society. What does it mean to be a lady when there’s no money,  no man, or no support? And the heroes for me changed from that wealthy man who has everything to a good man who is fighting for something. In What the Bride Wore, Grant is struggling to find his new identity. He was an idiot. Now he’s spent 5 years recouping the family fortune—and in an unusual way—and is about to do the rest. After all, being an aristocrat isn’t just about the money. It’s about society and stewardship and a whole host of other things. So how does he find his balance especially when he starts falling for the wrong woman who has secrets of her own.

MBA&M: Tell us your inspiration for a Bridal Salon story?

JADE: I wanted to write about two brothers (the Crowle Brothers) and the Crowle Stupidity. Five years before, elder brother Grant did something really, really stupid and then disappears. Younger brother Will is left behind to become steward of their land for someone else. In Winning a Bride , Will has to balance all sorts of responsibilities to the people, to his family name, and to the one woman who interests him. She’s the new landowner’s daughter, by the way, and her father despises him. And where the hell is his brother? That answer came in the novel What the Bride Wore which I described above.

Oh wait – were you interested in the bridal salon? Well, the series came because I wanted to know about the women who worked in Regency London. But honestly, these two books are about the Crowle Brothers and the women who inspire them to become better than ever.

MBA&M:  Can you give us a few tidbits on this series, how many books, and such?

JADE: The Bridal Favors series has four novella — novel pairs surrounding the women who run a bridal salon.

Engaged in WickednessWedded in Scandal – Dress Designer with a desperate secret

Engaged in Passion – Wedded in Sin (Up for a RITA award!) – Shoemaker struggling to survive when women didn’t make shoes

Winning a Bride – What the Bride Wore – Purchaser who finally finds stability only to have one man threaten to destroy it all

Really Cool Title Goes here – What the Groom Wants (Jan/Feb 2014) – Seamstress who becomes so much more all to win the man who has always loved her.

MBA&M:  If any of your books where to be made into a series, which one would it be?

JADE: You mean tv series or something like that? This series is so rich with possibilities. I’m a HUGE Downton Abbey fan and was inspired by that series to really look at some of the lower order women as well as the aristocrats.

Thank you Jade, for stopping by today! What a thrill…I have so enjoyed this series, I can hardly wait to read the rest of the story….

A Bit About the author:

A USA Today Bestseller, JADE LEE has been scripting love stories since she first picked up a set of paper dolls. Ball gowns and rakish lords caught her attention early (thank you Georgette Heyer), and her fascination with the Regency began. And as a Taurus, she lives to pit a headstrong woman against a tortured hero just to watch them butt heads on the way to true love. Flesh wounds are rare, but the healing and laughter are real. Now an author of more than 30 romance novels, she finally gets to set these couples in the best girl-heaven of all: a Bridal Salon! This way she gets to live out all her wedding fantasies, one by one. (Let’s be honest, what girl has only one idea for her dream wedding?) For more on the Bridal Favors series, visit Jade on the web at her website, Facebook or Twitter.
And don’t forget Jade’s other name, KATHY LYONS. That’s Jade’s lighter, contemporary side. She writes for Harlequin Blaze merging hawt sex and funny relationships into really great reads. Visit her website.
