by Lorhainne Eckhart
Series: The Wilde Brothers, Book 4
Genre: Women’s Fiction/Contemporary Romance
Release Date: March 31, 2015

The newest book in the Wilde Brothers series, featuring football star Jake Wilde, the youngest of the Wilde brothers.

Jake Wilde has two loves, but neither is going his way.

Jake Wilde, the youngest of the Wilde brothers, has it all. He’s a pro football star with the woman of his dreams by his side…or so he thought.

In a desperate attempt to keep the woman he loves, he asks her to marry him. The last thing Jake Wilde expects is for her to turn him down and walk out the door at the same time that his football team decides to trade him.

Chris Jeger, a legal assistant and part-time cheerleader for the Cardinals, has been waiting for true love. When she overhears Jake Wilde making a personal plea to some woman on the phone, she can see he’s heading down the road to disaster. Instead of walking away, she steps in to offer him advice so he doesn’t turn his life upside down the same way she once did.

Their friendship develops, and one night their emotions collide–but when someone unexpected suddenly knocks on his door, Jake learns that sometimes, what you wish for isn’t what you really want.

As real life interferes with her hopes and dreams, will Chris once again be brokenhearted, left on the outside looking in?

Good morning, Adrienne and welcome to My Book Addiction and More today….

First, thank you for having me on My Book Addiction and More. It’s always fun to hang out with people who love books as much as I do.

MBA&M: Adrienne, tell our readers a little about yourself?

I’m a Jersey girl at heart but now live in the Midwest. I love the ease of the Midwest, but I miss spending my summers on the beach in Jersey. There is something about ocean air that immediately relaxes me. My family still lives in Jersey so I get to visit quite often.

MBA&M: Can you tell our readers why you chose romantic suspense genre?

As a reader, I gravitate to the romance and mystery/thriller genres. With romantic suspense, I get all the fun of my favorite genres in one book. When I decided to write a book, I found I naturally gravitated to plotting a story that had suspense elements.   I like figuring out what it’ll take to catch the bad guy.

MBA&M:  What where some of the challenges in writing “RISKING TRUST”?

Despite being released third in the Private Protectors series, Risking Trust was the first book I’d written that I felt was ready to be submitted to publishers. There’s a practice book before it, but that one will never see daylight. J

When I wrote Risking Trust, like the story’s heroine, I was grieving the loss of my father. At the time, writing became my therapy. Grief is a wicked thing. One minute I’d be fine, the next I’d be blubbering. I poured all of that emotion into the story. The wonderful part of romances is there is always a happy ever after. So, even with my broken heart, I was able to give Michael and Roxann their happily ever after. For me, there is something incredibly satisfying about that.

MBA&M:  What is the weirdest piece of writing advice you have ever gotten that actually worked?

Someone actually told me to stop writing.  I was suffering from a case of what most people call writer’s block. I didn’t feel blocked so much, I just couldn’t seem to write anything I felt satisfied with. A writer friend told me to leave the story alone for a while and move on to something else. I was skeptical, but it worked. Once I stopped obsessing about the story, I was able to just write and not worry about how bad the first draft was. This was when I started writing what I call my “ugly draft”. I now always write a complete first draft of the story without stopping to edit. Once I get that complete draft down, I go back and start the really hard work of cleaning it up. J

MBA&M:  What are some of your favorite food, music, books, etc?

I love any kind of Italian food. My mother’s meatballs are my all-time favorite. I used to wake up every Sunday to the smell of frying meatballs and simmering sauce (we call it “gravy”). To this day, I love that smell. My taste in music varies. I’m a classic rock girl, but since living in the Midwest, I’ve become a country fan also. I’ve also recently become a big Usher fan. He’s been around for years, but suddenly I can’t get enough of his music. Books? As I said above, give me a great thriller or romance and I’m happy. I also like to read biographies.

MBA&M:  Tell our readers a few tidbits about your upcoming project(s)?

My latest releases are Negotiating Point and Relentless Pursuit, which are both part of the Private Protector series, but can be read as stand-alone books. Negotiating Point is a novella while Relentless Pursuit is a full length novel. Relentless Pursuit (also known as Billy’s book) pairs smart-mouthed operative Billy Tripp with no-nonsense Kristen Dante. Kristen runs a billion dollar hotel that has been targeted by an upscale car theft ring and Billy decides he’s going to help bring the thieves down. In the process, Kristen teaches him a few hard lessons in filtering and Billy loses his heart. J

Private Protectors Book #4

Coming August 13, 2012

Publisher: Carina Press

You call this a mission?

Yeah, ex-Army Ranger and Taylor Securities operative Billy Tripp screwed up. So instead of being assigned to a dangerous international mission, he’s sent to babysit a pricey necklace at a trendy South Beach hotel. The only bright side to the assignment is working with the manager, smoking-hot hotel heiress Kristen Dante.

Kristen’s worked hard to build her father’s Miami hotel into a jet-set destination. She’s confident in business but not so much with men. What could a sexy guy like Billy want with her when he could have someone like her beautiful, party-girl sister?

There’s a reason Billy’s known as Mr. Relentless. He doesn’t give up. Not on a job, or on the woman he wants. So when three luxury cars go missing from the hotel’s lot, Billy sets out to find the thief. Suddenly, he has a case with the risks he thrives on. But when his investigation leads to Kristen being threatened, the real danger is losing his heart.
