tracybloomMBA&M: Welcome to My Book  Addiction and More today. First off, please tell our readers a little about yourself?

Hi. I’m Tracy Bloom and I write romantic comedy novels. In a previous life I used to develop rollercoasters for the UK’s best theme parks, which was kind of a dream job until my husband decided to move us all to America! So instead of becoming a desperate housewife I decided to pursue my other dream job, which was to write a book, and so NO-ONE EVR HAS SEX ON A TUESDAY was born.

MBA&M: What is you inspiration for writing No-One Ever Has Sex on a Tuesday”?

Most of the action takes place after an ill-fated one-night stand at a school re-union. The two main characters Katy and Matthew meet again 8 months later in an antenatal class and have to face up to the fact that Matthew could be the father. I wrote the book having just had my first child and was struck when I attended antenatal classes how each couple had come from such different backgrounds and had such different stories to tell. One lady arrived with a female friend and pointed out they were not lesbians but she was there as moral support because her husband had left her 5 weeks previously! From then on I just thought there was a great story that could be told around how a shock meeting in an antenatal class comes about and what happens next ….

MBA&M: Why write romantic comedy?

I love comedy and I love the feeling of making people laugh. I watched my brother-in-law who is from Oldham, Lancashire and doesn’t care for romcoms laugh-out-loud many times as he read my book and I couldn’t have been prouder!

MBA&M: Do you feel there is a wide audience for this genre(Romantic Comedy),in this age and time, what is the allure?

I think there is always an audience for humour especially humour that comes from our everyday experiences. We have the best laugh with our family and friends don’t we? I try and write funny stuff that your mates might say.

MBA&M: Who was you favorite character to write? Why?

I loved writing Braindead who is best mates with Ben, one of the lead characters. Braindead is obviously a nickname but he is far from stupid. He just says things how they are in a very uncomplicated fashion, which makes him very endearing, very insightful and very funny.

MBA&M: What was your worst scene to write? Why?

The book’s finale is in the labour ward and trying to describe contractions was really hard. Also the timing of the groans proved a little tricky as well as giving it a significant level of pain!

MBA&M: I know you probably get this often, but how hard is it to write the sensual scenes?

n/a – no sensual scenes

MBA&M: If you could be President for a day,of any Country in the world, what country and ,what would you change?

I’d have to say somewhere in Africa – get rid of the corruption and allow help and aid get to where it matters.

MBA&M: What do you do to relax? What genre do you enjoy reading?and Who is one of your favorite authors to read?

I do like a good thriller – I’ve just read Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl thought it was brilliant. Fantastic plot, fantastic, characters, fantastic writing.

MB&M: Using three words only, describe, “No-One Ever Has Sex on a Tuesday”?

tracybloomTracy Bloom – Author Bio

Tracy Bloom started writing when her cruel, heartless husband ripped her away from her dream job shopping for rollercoasters for the UK’s leading theme parks, to live in America with a brand new baby and no mates. In a cunning plan to avoid domestic duties and people who didn’t understand her Derbyshire accent, she wrote NO-ONE EVER HAS SEX ON A TUESDAY. She soon found however that her new American friends took a shine to her British sense of humour and encouraged her to share her words with a wider audience. NO-ONE EVER HAS SEX ON A TUESDAY went on to be successfully published internationally providing Tracy with a new dream job, making people laugh and sometimes cry through her writing.
Back in good old England now (desperately missing drive-through Starbucks, 30- Rock, NPR and people who talk to you in the street without thinking you’re a weido) and cracking on with writing about other people who screw up their lives in a hilarious fashion including a sequel, NO-ONE EVER HAS SEX AFTER A BABY.

NO-ONE EVER HAS SEX ON A TUESDAY has been published in Germany, Italy, Poland, Serbia, and will be released in Brazil this Summer.
