RELEASE DAY!! YEAH AND CONGRATULATIONS, ELIZABETH!!!

Elizabeth Michels Must Love Dukes CoverNow, without further ado: WELCOME, Elizabeth!!

Getting to Know Elizabeth Michels……

MBA&M: Today is release day for Must Love Dukes! First, Congratulations! Now, what will you do to celebrate RELEASE DAY, other than visit with us… inquiring minds want to know?

EM: First of all, thank you for having me here on this exciting day! I’m happy to be celebrating with you! *throws confetti in the air* My plans for the day are simple: remain calm, drink a mimosa—which will help with the aforementioned calmness, spend time with my family who supported me while I wrote this book, then abandon my family completely to go to dinner with a friend.  Finally, I plan to curl up with a good book which is what led me to writing in the first place.

MBA&M: What was your inspiration behind writing Must Love Dukes?

EM: In my mind, the story begins with Lily’s fight to keep her family’s legacy intact after the loss of her parents.  When I started writing this story my mom was very ill.  And, it seems like whenever a family member becomes horribly sick, the mention of inheritance is bound to slip from someone’s lips.  So, I was shampooing my hair one day and Lily popped into my head—a girl in a fight with her siblings over something that makes blood boil even today. Unfortunately, Lily is unable to go toe to toe with her brothers because of the time period she was born into.  Instead, she is forced to steal back her family’s possessions.  And if she must steal back her family heirlooms who would be worse to steal from than a Duke?  A Mad Duke!

MBA&M:  If you can tell us, how many books will be in the “Tricks of the Ton”?

EM: When I sat down to write Must Love Dukes, I intended it to be a stand-alone book.  So, I was as surprised as anyone else when Sue Green walked into that ballroom and in doing so turned this into the Tricks of the Ton series! Sue will be the heroine in next month’s Desperately Seeking Suzanna.  Since that day it’s grown even more with Lord Amberstall and Katie Moore who you’ll get to know in How to Lose a Lord in 10 Days or Less (in stores July 2014).  Characters keep arriving and once there, they seem to demand their own book.  At this time, there are 3 books in the series.  But, I’m working on my next 3 books right now and I think you’ll recognize all 3 heroines. *grins*

MBA&M:  How will you and your loved one celebrate Valentine’s Day?

EM: Other than trying NOT to eat all the little foil-wrapped chocolate hearts from the bowl in my kitchen, my plan is to spend the evening with my husband.  I’m not sure of our exact plans, but I hope they include cute new shoes and a nice dinner out.  But, whatever we do, I’ll be happy just to spend time with him—my real life hero.

MBA&M: What was or is the strangest thing to happen to you while writing?

EM: Tough question.  It’s a toss-up between being decorated with Play-Doh and being pelted with foam Nerf darts.  Should I explain?  I thought so.  I’m a stay-at-home mom to my 5 year-old little boy who enjoys shooting me with Nerf darts, decorating my arms with Play-Doh and climbing on me like I’m a set of monkey bars while I attempt to write about ballrooms and swoon-worthy gentlemen.  And I love it! Here he is using my laptop as some sort of super hero stage for battle.

I’m not sure who won, but it looks like Thor and Wolverine are conspiring to take down the Silver Surfer.  Maybe if I’m lucky, they’ll move their battle long enough for me to write my next book.

Thank you for celebrating the release of Must Love Dukes with me today! What are your plans for the day?  I look forward to hearing from you.

Again, Congratulations on your BIG day! And thank you for stopping by today!!
