SECRET Revealed: A SECRET Novel
MBA&M: Please give our readers some insight behind your inspiration for writing the S.E.C.R.E.T. Trilogy?

I find erotic romance books to be great escapes. But I sometimes wonder if women, given the chance to have mind-blowing sex, would be reluctant to jump right in there and go for it. So I was inspired to explore that reticence, and why some women hesitate in matters of sex, and love. And I found a character in Cassie Robichaud, who became this terrific stand-in, as she surrenders, bit by bit, to this mysterious group that grants her sexual fantasies. With each book, she delves further and further into this world, eventually becoming one of them, all while still trying to live her “normal” life, and to find love with Will, her boss and friend.

MBA&M: Who was your favorite character throughout the trilogy? Why?

Gosh, Cassie’s my girl, you know? I’ve put her through a lot. She starts out as a shy widow, and becomes, by book three, a vivacious entrepreneur, who’s juggling responsibilities (and men), and participating in an organization that helps women overcome sexual obstacles, which also frees their hearts, and Cassie’s. I love her. So I would say she’s in my heart, but I really identify with my new character, Solange Faraday, a smart, skeptical workaholic journalist—who really can’t believe this is all for her—these men, this sex! There’s a little more of me in her than I care to admit.

MBA&M: How hard was it for you to write the sensual scenes?
Sex scenes are fun, but sometimes difficult to write because in many instances my characters are having sex with strangers, though a lot of emotions are stirred up. Those ones, the pure fantasies, were hardest to write, but the love and sex scenes were challenging in a different way. That was a lot of choreography—just trying to figure out where legs and limbs and lips should go, and mixing it up to keep it interesting. Luckily I have a great editor who could provide a second set of eyes on the details, though it made for a lot of giggling editing sessions.
MBA&M: What was your inspiration for writing a story of sensual awakening, a female sensual organization and building confidence of your sensuality?
Oh, well, I’m a firm believer that a healthy sex life can have a palliative affect on the rest of your life. Good sex can increase confidence, and build your self-esteem. But you can do that all on your own, too. So I’m not saying have to have a partner, though for some it’s preferable J But I’m pro-women, and  think, though I understand the popularity of books like Fifty Shades of Grey, there’s room on our erotic romance shelves for book with more female agency, where women determine the sexual stakes, and decide how far they’ll go. I just wanted to switch things up a bit. And the books are slowly catching on!
MBA&M: What was your biggest challenge in writing S.E.C.R.E.T. REVEALED?
Well Cassie’s little love triangle can’t really last. At a certain point she’s got to decide if she’s going to be with Will or Jesse and both men, as we know, have incredible merits. So that was tough, making that decision with Cassie. And of course, the way my books are structured, a new character is introduced each book, and in Solange I think I found a fierce and compelling woman who also ties up all the loose ends in sexy and surprisingly moving ways.  I hope readers agree, but that’s always the tough part.

MBA&M: For those readers, who may not have read S.E.C.R.E.T. as of yet, why do you feel they should read this Trilogy? What do you feel will gain from reading this Trilogy?
My books I think have everything tradition erotic romance novels have, love, sex and a dollop of fantasy. But my books are grounded in reality and they take place in a real city with real people who have real jobs and lives. And I also think it’s important that erotic books feature women who aren’t just 22-year old virgins. That’s fun and sexy, but it can’t be the only fare on our bookshelves or I think we forget that it’s possible to be sexy as we age. I, as a reader, need to see myself, I need to see my stories in the books I read, and I love hearing from women from all over the world who tell me that Cassie’s journey helped them get their mojo back.
MBA&M: What will be your next project, inquiring minds want to know?
I will write a book under my own name, Lisa Gabriele, something short and saucy, but not necessarily erotic. I do plan to revisit this genre. I was heartened by the appetite for the kinds of books I love to write, about complicated women living complicated lives. I am also a TV producer, so I have a couple of projects percolating, and of course we’re in the very early stages of developing S.E.C.R.E.T. as a TV series, so as I have more news on that, you’ll hear about it!
*You heard it here, folks, there may be a T.V. series, coming for the S.E.C.R.E.T Trilogy, how exciting.*

No judgments. No limits. No shame.

Cassie Robichaud’s life has been filled with regret and loneliness since the death of her husband. But when she discovers a notebook left behind by a mysterious woman at the café, Cassie’s world is forever changed. The notebook’s stunningly explicit confessions shock and fascinate Cassie, and eventually lead her to S∙E∙C∙R∙E∙T, an underground society dedicated to helping women realize their wildest, most intimate sexual fantasies. Cassie soon immerses herself in an electrifying ten-step journey through a series of rapturous fantasies with gorgeous men who awaken and satisfy her like never before.
