MBA&M: Please tell our readers a little about yourself?
KELLIE: I’m your average crazy girl who talks to her characters, has an addiction to coffee, and an obsession with Jack Daniels.
MBA&M: What was your inspiration for writing “WHAT THE HEART WANTS”?
KELLIE: Believe it or not, I started this book when I was 13 years old. Of course, it’s changed tremendously since then, but it all started because of a song. Aerosmith’s Angel. Music plays a big part in my writing and story lines. I can zone out with a song and have a scene play through my mind. Some people call it daydreaming. I call it plotting.
MBA&M: Why a celebrity hero?
KELLIE: I’ve always been fascinated with celebrities, especially musicians. Since music is a big inspiration, I couldn’t imagine Dylan being anything but a famous musician.
MBA&M: What made you decide to write Fantasy/Futuristic genre?
KELLIE: I didn’t originally plan to write in this genre, but I’ve alway been drawn to the unexplainable things in the universe. In fact, I read tarot cards, as does one of the characters in the book. While I consider What the Heart Wants on the lighter side of the paranormal genre, the subsequent books have heavier paranormal elements.
MBA&M: How many books will be in the “Soulmate” series, and can you give us some insight into the next book?
KELLIE: As of now, there are 4 books planned with a possibility of a 5th. I also plan to do a prequel and a couple of spinoffs. Book 2 picks up right where Book 1 leaves off. I don’t want to revel too much for anyone who hasn’t read Book 1, but when the people close to Dylan and Heaven find out about an upcoming event, the, ahem, sh*t hits the fan. In fact, Heaven’s life is in danger. If that isn’t enough, Heaven and Dylan find out that there is much more to their connection and their lives than they originally thought.
MBA&M: Who was your favorite secondary character and why?
KELLIE: Layne. He really came to life in Book 2. I wanted to smack him around in Book 1. To be honest, I was going in a different direction with him. Boy, did he let me know how wrong I was.
MBA&M: Inquiring minds want to know,or me rather…
What attracted you to your heroine,Heaven, and what was your inspiration for the name her Heaven,it is such an usual name?
KELLIE: I like that she is this gentle spirit who loves beyond fault. I wish there were more people like her in the world. As for her name, all I can say is that there is a specific reason why she has the name she has, but its a little bit of a spoiler. 😉
MBA&M: If you could rewrite a scene which scene would you rewrite and why? I know you could, but would you want to,would it change the outcome and why would you?
KELLIE: I don’t think I would rewrite any scene. The characters tell me their story. All I do is write.
MBA&M: What do you hope to accomplish with your writing?
KELLIE: I want to provide people with good entertainment, but I hope that people will know that true love does exist and it’s worth every moment, even the frustrating ones. Love is the greatest of all things.
MBA&M: What’s on the horizon for you, other than the next in your “Soulmate” series,I mean?
KELLIE: I have another series I plan to write. I’m 4 chapters into it. It follows the story of Jocelyn and Adam, two lost souls brought together by one very special guitar. I have many other stories planned, too.
MBA&M: Now, Kelli, please tell our readers how to connect to you and where they may purchase “What The Heart Wants”?
KELLIE: I adore readers and love to chat with them, especially on Facebook. I’m on Twitter as well, but you’ll find me on Facebook more often. I also have a page for the series. Stop by and say hi.

Book One: What the Heart Wants
Do dreams foretell the future? Are there soul connections that go deeper than love?
Dylan McBride is tired of his rock star lifestyle. Between the nosy press and crazed fans, all he wants is to be left alone…and find the angel who’s been plaguing his dreams for months. Maybe longer.
When he meets Heaven Lewis, his world is turned upside down. Not only is she the girl from his dreams, he notices he can sense her emotions at any place and time.
Being involved with a celebrity is the last thing Heaven imagined…or wanted. Especially since her last relationship nightmare. Yet resisting Dylan doesn’t come easy. Something about him pulls at her heart. And her soul.
Will Dylan’s celebrity status be too much for Heaven, or can he convince her to surrender to What the Heart Wants?
