A visit and #Giveaway with Heather McCollum!

Today we are thrilled to welcome Author Heather McCollum to My Book Addiction and More! Sit back, read on, and enjoy!

Thank you so much for having me today on My Book Addictions and More! I’m thrilled to talk about CAPTURED HEART, my newly released 16th century, Scottish romance with paranormal elements! CH is Entangled Publishing’s debut Scottish historical and is in their Entangled Select line.

The idea for CAPTURED HEART started over thirteen years ago after I visited Scotland with my mother and husband. While dodging sheep along twisty roads, we toured castles and stone circles. I fell in love with the history and raw beauty of the Highlands. One day we came upon the unmarked ruins of a 15th century castle and my muse started playing the bagpipes! CAPTURED HEART became my “first born” book and weighed in at a whopping 140,000 words.  After completing four other books, I came back to CAPTURED HEART, having developed my voice and writing technique. I shaved off 40,000 words and rewrote it into the romantic adventure it was always meant to be.

Meg is a healer fleeing the man who killed her mother by accusing her of practicing witchcraft. The art or “magic” of healing has always fascinated me as well as the sociology behind fear of the occult in times past. So much of what we know today about medicine would have been magic back in the 16th century. Meg possesses a supernatural power to heal, but she doesn’t know how to use the glowing blue light she can conjure. The power is more of a curse than a gift until she meets her aunt who teaches her to wield and appreciate it.

There is also a fine line, which I’ve learned first-hand this year as I fought ovarian cancer, between healing someone to life and healing someone to death. A lot of our miracle medicines are poisons. Doctors need to know how much and when to dose a patient or the cure becomes lethal. Meg experiences this as she fights for the people she loves.

Caden Macbain, the hero of CAPTURED HEART, is the perfect Highland clan chief. He’s been raised as a rugged warrior but has an intellect that makes him question the reasons behind war. I love this about him! He’s built a system of accountability for himself by visiting ten cottages in his village every day to talk with his people. So when he is enraged and wants to react foolishly out of revenge or some other selfish emotion, he recalls the faces of the men, women and children who depend on him to act with honor and in their interests, not his own. It chains him to the right path in a time when many leaders acted recklessly to further their own pursuits.

As a chief to a large clan, Caden is definitely alpha-male, doesn’t talk much and doesn’t reveal his plans except when he must. He is just as capable of surviving as a lone wolf as he is leading a clan away from the brink of starvation. He can slice an Englishman from stem to stern yet pluck a leaf from Meg’s wild curls. He could have many women but decides that he wants only one. Ah, and there is the conflict. What if the one he wants is the one whose sacrifice will save his clan?

CAPTURED HEART is the first novel in a trilogy that blends magic and history in the time of Henry VIII. TANGLED HEARTS is the second book and follows Caden’s best friend to the English court where he must battle through the web of royal intrigue to help the most complicated lass he’s ever met. He finds that a battle of wits at the Tudor court can be just as deadly as a battle of steel on the moors.

Fleeing with only her bow, horse, enormous pet wolf, and the cryptic clues hidden in her mother’s medicine journal, healer Meg Boswell gallops north towards freedom, running from the man who falsely accused her mother of witchcraft. Cursed with magical healing abilities, Meg knows that if she’s captured, she will die like her mother—atop a blazing witch’s pyre.

Winter winds rip across the Highlands, pressing Chief Caden Macbain forward in his desperate plan to save his clan. He’s not above using an innocent woman to bargain for peace if it keeps his clan from starving. But Meg isn’t who Caden thinks she is, and when she kills a man to save the clan, he must choose between duty and her life. For although he captured her to force a peace, Meg’s strength and courage have captured Caden’s heart.

The Tarot
A guest post by Richard Long

Laura gave me my first tarot deck. It was a Crowley. A lot of people get creeped out by Crowley decks, much as they would have been creeped out by Crowley, I imagine. He called himself ‘The Great Beast.’ To me, he seemed more like a big joke.

“Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law!”

Stop it, you’re killing me.

You just read the opening lines of The Bone King, a prequel to The Book of Paul. They happen to be true. Laura gave me my first deck. I still have it and use it. In fact, I’ll be using it shortly to provide Skype tarot readings for two lucky winners of my Whirlwind Blog Tour. I’m looking forward to the readings. The winners? I suppose that depends on which cards come up.

Actually, I don’t give scary tarot readings, I just write about scary tarot readings. People have enough fear and stress in their lives without me throwing more gas on the flames. Besides, the three scariest trump cards–The Hanged Man, Death and The Tower–can all be interpreted in very unscary ways. Most of the time.

William, the narrator of The Book of Paul, lives in the East Village/Alphabet City of New York in the years before gentrification made it a much less fun and frightening place. He makes a living doing tarot and numerology readings, same as the author did at the time. Like me, he is also a collector, but that’s where the similarities end. He collects ancient occult codices, some covered in human skin. He collects other things that are even more…disturbing.

The mythology of The Book of Paul is based largely on my very unique (so unique you’ll never see it anywhere else) interpretation of the twenty-two trump cards of the tarot. As William endeavors to unravel Paul’s nefarious intentions, he discovers an arrangement of the trumps that reveals the true story being told. In the following excerpt from one of William’s journal entries, Paul congratulates William on his discovery (which is not revealed, so no spoiler alert!) and rewards his efforts with a very special gift to add to his collection, and the promise of an even greater prize.

A fabulous tarot reading from Richard Long? A Kindle Fire?

No, William isn’t as lucky as three of you wonderful readers.

He’s about to have his very first look at The Book of Paul, a gift that comes with a very hefty price tag.

“You’ve done exceptionally well here,” Paul said, “but you’re never gonna get to the bottom of this no matter how many of those old books you poke your nose into.”

“And that’s because…”

“For starters, those writings were deliberately intended to disguise the truth in countless metaphors and scrambled codes to keep the idiots at bay. They’ve been translated, and re-translated back into the original demotic, Coptic or Greek countless times, every scribe adding his own pontifical touch in his glorious interpretation. Of the more accurate writings, there’s more missing from the tracts than what remains, as you’ve seen in the Drivel of Mary. You’ve about as much luck hitting pay dirt in those dustbins as those literalist born-agains have of seeing the Rapture. However, I have a gift for you that should prove far more enlightening, if you apply yourself with half the dedication of these research efforts.”

He reached deeply into his pocket and told me to close my eyes. “Don’t go using yer second sight and spoil the surprise.” I nodded and felt him place a large rectangular object in my left hand. “Okay, open ’em.”

It was a tarot deck. Older than any I’d seen. The paintings were incredibly detailed and absolutely exquisite. I turned them over one by one, The Hero, The Herald, The Oracle—all the trumps labeled with Paul’s titles. “These are amazing!” I said, awed and yes, flattered by his incredible gift. I had a hard time spitting it out, but I managed to say, “Thank you.”

“You’ve earned it,” he grunted, taking the cards back before I had a chance to look at the rest of them, setting the cards down gently on the table. “But don’t stay up too late gazing at them. This deck can be quite…entrancing.”

“Is there something else I should know about it?” I asked apprehensively.

“Indeed, there is. Get a good night’s sleep and meet me in the chapel tomorrow. I’m bumping you up to the advanced class, so make sure your eyes are bright and your head is clear. You’ve earned a little taste of the Gospel according to Paul.”

A visit with Vanessa Kelly—-#Giveaway

My Book Addiction and More is honored to welcome author Vanessa Kelly! Please sit back, relax and enjoy our time together.

MBA&M: Please give our readers some insight into author Vanessa Kelly?

Vanessa: I write very sexy stories that are character-driven, but also have pretty fast-moving plots and even the occasional bit of danger. I really love dogs and cupcakes, and action-adventure movies where things go boom. My husband tells me that my movie tastes are more akin to those of a teenage boy, and he’s not entirely wrong about that. But I’m also a Jane Austen devotee in any format, and an avowed follower of Downton Abbey.

MBA&M: What was your inspiration behind writing Historical Romance (Regency)?

Vanessa: I would say the Regency Romances penned by Georgette Heyer. My older sister had a treasure trove of those books, and I ripped through them when I was a teenager. And Jane Austen had a lot to do with it, too!

MBA&M: Where do you get your ideas for writing your Romances? Do your characters jump out at you or do they hide from you for a while before presenting themselves?

Vanessa: I get quite a lot of ideas from reading history, but television and movies are often a rich source too. Surprisingly, some of my best ideas come from reading contemporary romance and fiction—I’ll get the germ of a modern idea and wonder what it would be like transposed into a historical setting. And my characters do tend to hide out a bit, but I always manage to drag them out from behind the curtains!

MBA&M: If you could step into any book of yours or anyone else’s, who would it be and why?

Vanessa: For one of my books, I think it would be the current one, His Mistletoe Bride. First of all, it’s a Christmas book and I love the holidays. Secondly, it’s the wrap up to my current series, so all my favorite characters are in it. It would be fun to be with them one last time. As for another author’s books…I would have to say just about anything by Loretta Chase. Whatever else happened, I’d be sure to laugh.

MBA&M: Do you gain any energy from your fans? If so, how does it affect you and your writing?

Vanessa: Absolutely. It’s really fun to interact with my readers on facebook and Twitter, and on my blog. They encourage me and help me to feel like I’m on the right track, especially when I’m not feeling a whole lot of inspiration.

MBA&M: Can you give our readers some insight into the research and the authenticity required in writing Historical Romance?

Vanessa: Historical romance readers tend to be pretty knowledgeable about their favorite periods, so it’s always a good idea to strive for an appropriate and realistic historical setting. But I’m also writing for the modern reader—and writing a romance—so you have to balance all those competing elements. I try to create an accurate historical setting that lends itself to the story, gives readers a realistic feel for the period, but also supports a good romance plot that today’s readers can relate to. That does mean doing the kind of research that enhances my story, but story always comes first. Of course, the type of research itself changes from book to book, depending on the particular setting or plot.

MBA&M: Why do you feel readers lend themselves to the allure of historical romance?

Vanessa: Generally, I think readers look to historical romance for a little bit of an escape from their everyday lives. They like to imagine time periods where men and women—and the events of history—were so different and larger than life. Specifically, I think the Regency period is so attractive because it typified a certain elegance, charm, and wit—and we love the outfits—and yet was also a period of fascinating historical and social change. Women also had a fair amount of freedom in the Regency period, something they certainly didn’t have in many other eras. That makes it a little easier to push the envelope when creating plots and characters.

MBA&M: What is on your horizon? Can you give our readers some tidbits into your next project(s)?

Vanessa: I’m working on a new series for Kensington, called The Renegade Royals. It’s about a group of men who are the bastard offspring of the sons of King George III (in historical fact, these princes had a LOT of illegitimate children), and their adventures inside and outside the ton. The first release will be a novella to kick off the series, which will come out in December 2013. Two full-length books will follow immediately in January and February of 2014, and then I’ll be doing the same thing again ten months later. So, two novellas and four full full-length titles in that particular series.

Vanessa, do you have anything else you would like to add?

Vanessa: of your readers might be interested to know that I also write contemporary romance with my husband, under the pen name of V.K. Sykes. I really enjoy working on those books—they’re very sexy and fun, and my husband and I have a great time writing them. You can find out about those books at www.vksykes.com

A visit with author Rachel Astor and #giveaway

My Book Addiction and More is honored to welcome author Rachel Astor today. Please sit back and enjoy our talk!

MBA: First welcome to our site, please tell our readers a little about who you are.

Rachel: Thanks so much for having me! I’m a wife and stepmom first and a writer second, though I love all of it. I write light, fun books that hopefully take the reader away from the stresses of real life for a little while.

MBA:  Your newest release is very exciting can you tell our readers in your own words what your book is about?

Rachel: Dulcie and Nick are competing candy shop owners, but they don’t realize who each other is when they first meet and the sparks fly. Once they find out, the competition is on to see who can out-chocolate the other at the annual chocolatiers competition.

MBA: How did you come up with the idea for this book?

Rachel: The chocolate shop came first as I tend to lean toward settings that I would love to hang out in all day, and what’s better than a candy shop? Dulcie came next – it was tons of fun to try to get into the mind of a chocolate genius!
MBA: When you started writing this story did  you have your characters’ images already in mind or did you find they evolved as you wrote?

Rachel: They definitely evolved as I wrote. Dulcie wasn’t quite as flustered at the start as she is in the final book, and Nick became a much bigger part of the book as time went on, their competition against each other taking center stage.
MBA: What was the biggest surprise you had while writing?

Rachel: Probably how much fun I had coming up with the candy descriptions and names! Things like the Snowstorm, white chocolate covered a creamy minty green center and sprinkled with cracked sugar, or the Ode to Love chocolate with its cherry crème filling.
MBA: What’s next for you?

Rachel: Lots of things! My agent and I are currently working on polishing a middle grade novel, but I’m sure I’ll find myself plotting a new romance very soon!
MBA: If you were not a writer what would you most wish to do?

Rachel: I’d love to try lots of things, candy maker (of course!), maybe try photography, a travel agent perhaps – that’s the beauty of writing, I get to live vicariously through my characters!
MBA: What has been the greatest piece of advice you’ve received about writing/publishing?

Rachel: Most writing advice revolves around character development and their journey, which is obviously so important, but what I finally realized was when I was checking out what to read next, it was ALWAYS the plot hook that sucked me into picking something up. What makes a book different from other stuff I’ve read, etc. So, while you have to have characters that people want to spend all that time with, don’t forget the hook, the thing that really makes a book unique (or not).

MBA:  What has been the funniest thing to happen during your time writing this story?

Rachel: Probably trying to come up with new ways to make Dulcie’s Grams even more unique, though I did get a lot of inspiration for her from my own grandmother, who used to mow the lawn in her short shorts and “work heels” when she was about eighty. :o)

MBA:  What do you hope readers feel when they turn the last page of your story?

Rachel: I honestly just hope they turn it with a smile on their face. There’s so much stress in our world that it’s nice to have a fun, light getaway once in a while.

Thank you Rachel for being our guest! Be sure to keep a look out for our upcoming review of Sugar Rush. In the meanwhile we are excited to offer up an ebook copy of SUGAR RUSH. We are happy to offer a copy of this book to anyone who can receive a gifted copy of the book .This is ebook only. In order to win, you MUST comment on this blog post. Tell us what you’d most like to know about Rachel or her books.

Dulcie Carter has been running her family’s homemade sweet shop, Candy Land Confections, on her own since her mom passed away. But business is slow and rent is high, so Dulcie knows if she wants to keep her mom’s dream alive, she’ll need a miracle. The annual Assembly of Chocolatiers competition might be just the thing, if she can bring herself to try creating something new for the first time in a long time.

Then she meets Nick, a molten-hot guy with a sexy smirk and an attraction stronger than any sugar rush, whose family also happens to own the big-box candy shop in town—her strongest competition for first prize. Nick’s got his own reasons for needing the win, but then being around Dulcie is proving addictive.

As their competition heats up, so do the sparks between them. Can they keep their sights on winning, when love might be the sweetest prize of all?

Paradise Misplaced

the sequel to Exceeding Expectations

by Lisa April Smith

Launch Date: Sept. 15, 2012

All the unexpected twists and suspense, danger and crime, romance and sizzle, that kept readers of Exceeding Expectations turning the pages long into the night, are back in Paradise Misplaced, along with Charlie, Jack and Naomi – three unforgettable characters.

In Manhattan, being recently dumped by her soulmate becomes the least of Charlotte (Charlie) Morgan’s problems after she is shoved off a subway platform in front of an oncoming train. Her modeling career seems over and she may not walk again. Throughout her lengthy hospital stay the police have no success finding her assailant or determining a motive. A handsome detective recovering from similar injuries is assigned to be her physical therapy partner. Fearing that her unknown attacker will try again he urges her to draw up list of possible suspects – anyone she might have angered or rejected. Eliminating those who don’t fit a compiled description leaves just one possible suspect, an untouchable power broker with a famous art collection.

In Buenos Aires, Jack, the loveable lothario/conman, in his quest for his next wealthy wife, is romancing wealthy women he meets at a fashionable hotel where he isn’t a registered guest. To finance these activities he ever-so-gently exploits tourists and the local land barons. But whether he succeeds, falls short or fails miserably, readers can rely on sexy Jack to be entertaining.

In Israel, understandably bitter Naomi, working on an archeological dig, seeks temporary relief from her demons in hot casual affairs. Unwilling to be yet another in a series of her lovers, a rough-hewn widowed farmer relentlessly pursues her.

Will Charlie, Jack and Naomi meet? Will a story that begins on three continents end in triumph or disaster? No predicable ending here. You’ll have to read the book to find out.

How Odd Facts about Titantic Inspired my book by Michael Bowler

Odd Facts About Titanic Inspired My Book

As a child growing up, I’d felt a strong connection to the Titanic disaster from the first moment I read about it, and I continually devoured every book published on the subject. I don’t quite know where that “pull” came from, but it was almost as if I’d been there in 1912 and in my own time simultaneously. As if somehow I was there that cold April night, even though such was impossible.

That overlapping time feeling, coupled with a couple of odd facts about the sinking, planted the seed that grew into my novel. Fifteen minutes before Titanic took her final plunge into the sea, Captain Smith relieved the two wireless officers of duty, telling them there was nothing more they could do for the ship. These men had been frantically calling for help on the Marconi wireless and thus had missed all but one of the lifeboats. The two men, Jack Phillips and Harold Bride, exited the wireless cabin, which was located very near the already submerged bow of the ship. At that point, there was only one collapsible lifeboat left, strapped down very close to the rapidly rising seawater, and some crewmen were struggling to float it off into the ocean before it could be pulled under.

As would be expected, Bride rushed forward to assist, since that final boat would be his only hope for survival. But Phillips did something odd and counterintuitive – he turned and headed aft, towards the sloping rear of Titanic! Why? Why go towards certain death when your salvation lay a few feet away? That anomalous behavior led me to create a reason for his choice, a fantastical reason, yes, but a reason that led eventually straight into A Matter of Time.

There was another little known fact I glommed on to because I was always fascinated by everything supernatural. Titanic was carrying that night, in her cargo hold, the mummy of an Egyptian priestess, from the temple of Amon Ra. This mummy had already gained a reputation for being cursed – several of its owners had died mysteriously and photographs of the wrapped corpse displayed a living woman with glaring eyes. Even the photographer who’d taken these pictures died suddenly. There were so many mishaps and deaths associated with this mummy that the British museum finally sold the cursed object to an American buyer. The buyer packed it up, sarcophagus and all, for shipping to New York . . . aboard Titanic.

Later, after the sinking, some of the more superstitious people out there attributed the collision and sinking to the mummy’s presence on board the ship –another casualty of the same curse that had killed so many others. In my book, the sarcophagus, not the mummy, does play a major role in how events unspooledon April 15th, 1912, and in fact, does contribute to the circumstances which led to the collision. How? Read A Matter of Time to find out.

About the Author:

Michael Bowler grew up in San Rafael, California. He attended St. Raphael’s School and Marin Catholic High School before attending Santa Clara University. Titanic and her tragic fate fascinated him for as far back as he can remember. He has a vast collection of artwork, memorabilia and virtually every book ever written about the disaster.

He majored in English and Theatre at Santa Clara and got a master’s in film production from Loyola Marymount University. He partnered with two friends as producer, writer, and/or director on several films, most notably “Fatal Images,” “Dead Girls,” “Hell Spa” (later re-edited and titled “Club Dead”), “Things” and “Things II.”

He has written a number of unproduced screenplays and is currently working on other novels he has outlined. He’s been teaching high school in Hawthorne, California for over twenty years.

He has also been a volunteer Big Brother to seven different boys over 28 years with the Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters program and a volunteer within the juvenile justice system in Los Angeles for 27 years.  He is a passionate advocate for the fair treatment of children and teens in California, something that is sorely lacking in this state.

His first novel, A Boy and His Dragon, was originally written in the 1980’s before fantasy stories enjoyed a major renaissance, and has remained unpublished to this day. It is intended as the first of a trilogy.

A Matter of Time, his second novel, was originally written in the 1980’s and completed in the mid-1990’s as time permitted.

About the Book:

What is your destiny?

This question haunts 20-year-old Jamie Collins. A junior at Santa Clara University in 1986, Jamie has friends, a  professor who mentors him, and a promising future as a writer.

Then the dreams begin – nightmarish visions that transport him back to a time and place fifty years before he was born: Titanic’s maiden voyage in 1912!  Less than a week before the 74th anniversary of its sinking, Jamie discovers that his fate is inexplicably linked to that of the famous vessel. Somehow, the two timelines are overlapping, and when Titanic dies this time, Jamie will die along with it.

The dreams reveal something evil stalking the ill-fated ship, something that expedites the collision which sinks her. Jamie realizes that the only way to stop this evil and prevent his own death may be to prevent Titanic from sinking in the first place.

But how? How can he stop that ship from sinking in 1912 when he hadn’t even been born yet? And even if he can stop it – should he? What will be the effect on history if he succeeds? Jamie’s quest to fulfill his destiny ties friendsand  family together  in ways he could never have  imagined.

A Matter of Time is an emotionally charged voyage into the value of friendship, the power of love, the impact of evil, and the vagaries of Fate.

An Artist’s Life For Me

By Lindy S. Hudis

While in the process of promoting my latest book, “Crashers”, I thought I would speak a little bit about my “aspiring actress” past. Now, I was just an aspiring actress, mind you. I had tiny bit parts here and there. I was a dancing bimbo on Married With Children, and a nosey reporter on the daytime drama Sunset Beach.  I was as interesting journey, being an actress wanna-be in Los Angeles, and yes, I have written a book about that, too. However, I will talk about that on my next blog tour – when promoting that book.

It was an exciting yet heartbreaking time, but it was also a time of self discovery. I discovered that I am much better suited behind the scenes, like writing. My husband, a Hollywood stuntman, and I have started our own production company, Impact Motion Pictures. We are in the process of producing out own scripts and projects. So far, so good. We have several horror projects that we are bringing to life – myself being a horror fan! Another interesting journey.

Living in Los Angeles, California is an adventure to say the least. The wild and crazy city has inspired all of my literary works, because of the sheer drama and power of such a huge metropolis. “Crashers” was inspired by all of the shenanigans that go on across the hectic and intimidating Los Angeles freeways.

This is what inspired my story. I was in a minor fender bender several years ago. One of the parties involved decided to pretend that she was seriously injured and decided to sue all the drivers involved. It was a very minor accident, no injuries or damage at all. Anyway, I was so mortified that somebody would actually try to pull this kind of a scam that I decided to channel all of that anger into a story.  There are dishonest people out there that are ready and willing to do anything for money, people need to be very careful.

So, I have discovered on this journey called life that I need to have that creative artistic expression, or my soul will just wither away. I think all creative people need that. So, in any capacity, I feel very confident that an artistic life – and one full of inspiration – is the one for me.

About the Book:

Fraudulent car accidents is a multi-million dollar racket, involving unscrupulous medical providers, personal injury attorneys, and the cooperating passengers involved in the accidents—and who also receive a portion of the illegal proceeds. Such is the fate of newly engaged, Nathan and Shari, whose joy is tempered by the dark cloud of mounting debt.

A chance encounter with a stranger in whom Shari confides her troubles proves fortuitous: he tells her of a get-rich-quick scheme that will put her and her fiancé on easy street. Seduced by the chance to move from hard times to good times in no time, Shari takes the carrot offered her, and finds herself acting as a “stuffed passenger”—the “victim” in a staged auto accident. The act goes according to plan and Shari gets her payday, but getting out and breaking free of the insurance fraud underworld will take nothing short of a miracle.

A modern day cautionary tale, Crashers is a true-to-life novel that uncovers how the innocent get lured into the scheme of “cappers” and “hammers.”

A riveting story of love and desperation, greed and redemption.

A visit with Lisa Renee Jones and a chance to #Win

IF I WERE YOU is released everywhere in all formats and I have a fun announcement to celebrate!

If you haven’t heard yet to celebrate the release of IF I WERE YOU I’ve partnered with  Tokii  the first ever self-help relationship management platform, specifically designed to deepen and strengthen all types of relationships—to create an interactive game based on her sexy novel. The game will allow couples to discover each other’s innermost desires and fantasies in a fun new way! Lisa will also be giving away a $200 Amazon gift card via THE GAME at the  Tokii website.

Have you played the game? If so I’d love to hear your thoughts. DH and I sat over drinks and appetizers and did it and it was harder than we thought. We had fun with the questions but then we did research and fun facts that you will see at the sidebar of the game. DH not only found the journal that inspired the story — he helped me come up with the game:)

Today I’d love to hear what you think of the game and the site. Would you play a sexy game like this with your man? Do tell!

Just give me your thoughts for a chance to win my STEPPING UP TRILOGY from Blaze and a $10 gift card from your fav retailer!

I have a few contests going on at my website with a new one starting Sept 2nd.

About the book…

He is rich and famous, and dark in ways I shouldn’t find intriguing, but I do. I so do. I don’t understand why his dark side appeals to me, but the attraction between us is rich with velvety promises of satisfaction. Chris is dark, and so are his desires, but I cannot turn away. He is damaged beneath his confident good looks and need for control, and in some way, I feel he needs me. I need him.
