FIRST EXPOSURE by Elisabeth Naughton

A film that could make her career. A weekend that will change her life…

When actress Avery Scott’s assistant goes missing researching a role for Avery at an exclusive adults-only resort, Avery finds herself with only one choice: travel to the resort herself and look for clues. She hires an elite operative from Aegis Security to accompany her. She just doesn’t expect to get former undercover FBI agent Cade Blackwell—the man who ripped out her teenage heart twelve years before. One weekend at the sexiest resort in the world with the only man she’s ever loved will expose her to more than just a kinky new lifestyle. It’ll expose her to numerous wicked firsts that will test every ounce of her self-control. And if she’s not careful, she could lose her heart—and her life—in the process.

FIRST RAPTURE by Alexandra Ivy

Madison Philips has only one reason to return to Las Vegas: Luc Angeli. The tall, dark bad boy took her virginity on her eighteenth birthday and then walked away, now she’s back, and ready for revenge. Luc Angeli spent his youth trying to earn the approval of his philandering father. Now he’s his own man, but there’s still something missing from his life. He doesn’t know what it is until he catches sight of Madison across a balcony. Suddenly he knows this woman is what he’s been searching for, and this time he’s not walking away.

Hot sex. No regrets. Jess Delaney has spent her life playing the role of the good-girl. On a trip to Vegas, she decides to walk on the wild side when she meets mysterious Blake Landon. Rich, powerful, and carrying plenty of secrets, Blake is unlike any man she has ever met before. But as the passion burns between them, danger waits in the darkness…a danger that may just claim Jess’s life…

FIRST INK by Laura Wright

Women in his bed, celebs and rockers in his chair, life is pretty freaking swell. Then she walks back into it again. Not for pleasure, but for pain. For Ink. A bleeding heart to match the one she left him with five years ago.

She can’t forget him or the pain she caused him. All she has is a hope for redemption. But it’ll only work if he lets her inside his exclusive world, under his famous artist’s needle and into his bed—once again.

He’s dangerous, sexy, and everything she wants. And he’s about to make his claim…

Hayden, the dangerously sexy, tattooed ex-SEAL is one of the best friends Sierra has ever had—and the main star in her wildest fantasies. But he doesn’t see her that way. And she’d die of embarrassment if he found out she was still a virgin.

Hayden’s struggled to keep his attraction to the beautiful, dark haired casino chef a secret. But when an attacker targets Sierra, Hayden’s protective instincts go into overdrive. With the attraction between them burning out of control, he’ll do whatever it takes to protect her and make her his.

Counterterrorist agent Taft Walker is up for the challenge of posing as an adult store owner with a new female undercover partner who is also a sex-toy virgin. At least until he sees the real woman beneath her tough façade.

Border Patrol Agent Zoe Brooks is ready to get off the front lines. She’s willing to tolerate a swaggering partner like Taft for a new opportunity. But she’s not prepared for the way he understands her deepest, sexiest desires.

Welcome, Marilyn!

So now without further ado….

Marilyn Brant

MBA&M: Good morning, Marilyn, please give our readers some insight into the working of a writer’s mind and a few details about yourself?
Marilyn: First of all, thank you so much for inviting me here today, April, and many thanks to everyone at MBA&M for allowing me to visit! As for details about my writing style and background, I’ve always been a bookworm and Jane Austen has been my favorite author since I was 14. Her novels influenced me greatly when I was in high school and college, and when I finally started writing my own fiction, my hope was that I’d be able to craft characters someday who were as real to readers as Austen’s heroes/heroines were to me. I currently have seven novels available, with a new one coming out this fall, and two of my books (my debut novel According to Jane and my most recent novel Pride, Prejudice and the Perfect Match) have obvious nods to Jane Austen, but a familiarity with her work isn’t necessary in order to read mine. I live in the northern Chicago suburbs with my husband and our son. I love, love, love travel and music and ice cream. And really all kinds of chocolate!
Holiday ManMBA&M: Give us three words, you would us to describe your contemporary romance, Pride,Prejudice and the Perfect Match?
Marilyn: Humorous, fast-paced, and emotional 🙂.
MBA&M: Which character was the most challening to write and why?
Marilyn: Pride, Prejudice and the Perfect Match is about Beth Ann Bennet, an aspiring social worker and struggling single mom, who uses an Internet dating site in order to do research on stereotypes. The guy she meets online is a doctor by the name of Will Darcy, who has his own ulterior motives for having a “Love Match” profile… So, neither of these characters are being particularly truthful with each other at the beginning of the story, although they both have good motives and manage to convince themselves that the ends will justify the means. Because they were each wrestling with a moral dilemma, however, it was challenging to write both of their characters (how was I going to get them to justify their actions?!) but, at the same time, that’s what made it so interesting to be deeply in their points of view. They were both simultaneously difficult and endearing to me.
MBA&M: Will you release more books in 2013, if so, how many and do you have any tentative titles you wish to share?
Marilyn: Yes!! My next release is coming out in early October — it’s a coming-of-age romantic mystery called The Road to You. It’s about a teen girl who finds the journal of her missing brother. He and his best friend had disappeared two years before and were both presumed dead. But, once she reads the journal, she realizes there are clues hidden within its pages, so she convinces the best friend’s brother — a guy she’s always been drawn to, even against her better judgment — to go on a road trip with her to try to find answers… I’m also working on a romantic novella project (no title yet!) and the sequel to Pride, Prejudice and the Perfect Match (which will be Bingley and Jane’s story), and both of those are tentatively planned for release in 2014.
MBA&M: Do you think you would like to write for instance Paranormal Romance or Science Fiction novels in the future?
Marilyn: Actually, my debut novel — According to Jane — has a strong paranormal element since one of the characters is the ghost of Jane Austen! It was considered by many to be a paranormal/fantasy novel, as well as a contemporary new adult/romantic women’s fiction story. (It crossed A LOT of genre lines, LOL.) And, yes, I would love to write another book with a paranormal thread again. As for science fiction, I devoured the Douglas Adams books as a teen, so funny sci-fi novels are another favorite type of genre for me to read, although I have yet to try to write one…someday!!
MBA&M: Who are some of your favorite authors to read?
Marilyn: Aside from Jane Austen, I also love E.M. Forster (especially A Room with a View), Elizabeth Berg, Sue Miller, Anne Tyler and Anita Shreve (all stellar women’s fiction writers), Kristan Higgins and Susan Elizabeth Phillips (in contemporary romance), and, as I said above, I’ll always be a fan of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams (humorous sci-fi) and The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare (historical YA). So many of my friends are writers, too, that I could list paragraphs of other fabulous authors. If I started doing that, I’d never be able to narrow it down! There’s just not enough time for all the stories I want to read…
MBA&M: Now, let’s play the name game, shall we? I will give a couple of words, you say the first thing that comes to mind:

Kindle or Nook? Kindle — I love my Kindle Fire!!

Person or Place? Person(s) — my hubby and our son.

Contemporary or Historical?
Both!! — I consider reading to be like mental time-travel, whether I’m only going back as far as the 1980s or all the way back to Regency England. I love getting to live in different time periods through literature.
Romance or Fiction? Romance — thinking now of all of my favorite romantic movies, like “Before Sunrise,” “While You Were Sleeping” and “When Harry Met Sally…”

MBA&M: Last but in no ways least, please tell our readers how they may connect with you and where they may purchase Holiday Man

Would an Elizabeth Bennet by any other name be as appealing to a Darcy?

Beth Ann Bennet isn’t looking for love. She’s an aspiring social worker using an online alias to study sex-role stereotypes. Dr. William Darcy isn’t looking for love either. He’s just trying to fund his new clinic by winning a major bet. Both think Lady Catherine’s Love Match Website will help them get what they want—fast, easy and without endangering their hearts. Both are in for a big surprise.

Pride, Prejudice and the Perfect Match…where true love is just a fib and a click away.
