Many times as I interacted with other people in my daily life they would say a ‘two word’ expression over and over it seemed. Those ‘two words’ were ‘I knew’.
The sad part about those words was they were always accompanied by something sad or regret. I always wondered if they knew during those moments then why didn’t they listen to themselves?
I believe the reason was that people seemed to never acknowledge the fact that the ‘I knew’ they were talking about was their own inner voice given to them by this Universe.
They just didn’t realize how special they really were or what incredible gifts we all have inside us if only we would listen and nurture those gifts.
The people I met would say things like, “I knew that restaurant would be bad” or “I knew that milk was sour” or “I knew that person was no good”.
But they never seemed to listen to themselves and went past their own ‘I knew’ to doing something that didn’t make their lives better.
Once while hiking in the mountains and thinking about it I decided to give that term ‘I knew’ a name and that name was ANZARD (part angel/part wizard). We all have an Anzard and the one in my story is named Poofy … a cute, funny, smart little pixie from a planet called Spiritainia.
So guys, what I want you to learn from my book is to listen and trust your own instincts. Be aware what the voice inside you is telling you because it loves you and it watches out for you.
If you trust that voice of yours I know your certainty, creativity and courage will grow with you as you evolve through your own magical life.
Also my voice outside of your inner voice wants you to know that I love you too.

Thank you, Christopher Conroy, for visiting with us and our readers today!

About the book…

Title: Anzard
Author: Christopher Conroy
Publisher: CreateSpace
Pages: 154
Genre: Children’s Fiction
Format: Paperback/Kindle

Author Christopher Conroy has just released a book for kids aged 8-12 called ANZARD. Teachers, parents, producers…take note!  This appealing and well-written book would give Lewis Carroll (Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland) reason to worry.  As a matter of fact if you mixed in one part Harry Potter, with one part Pinocchio then added a generous helping of Alice in Wonderland…you’d get Anzard!

ANZARD tells the story of how a young boy named Justin Cavell learns to listen to that voice inside him and trust his instincts.  He also learns how his dreams and wishes can come true:  Justin becomes more aware of himself and his potential to turn his dreams and wishes into reality.

One dark and stormy night, as Justin is anxiously awaiting the return of his parents and praying for their safe return from a long overdue plane trip, he is visited by Poofy, a tiny, magical pixie who comes from the faraway planet, Spiritainia.  Justin is escorted to this wonderful world of Spiritainia by the Anzard pixie, Poofy.  Aside from Poofy, Justin is joined by his own Tribe of Truth – that include such memorable characters as Regal the Eagle, Turner the Turtle, Chumpah the Chipmunk and Billy the Goat – define Justin’s inner voice and help him in his quest of self-discovery.

Justin also learns to resolve conflict, which arrives in the form of an evil witch named Nosefeen, and captures Poofy as Poofy is guiding Justin to the Path of Possibilities. Through these adventures, Justin grows stronger and develops self-esteem, enabling him to return to Earth, find his parents, and guide them home safely.

ANZARD opens up a world of rewards for kids who learn to develop and trust their inner voice. The book helps them to become more aware and enlightened.

The ANZARD book cover is beautifully illustrated by Peter Green Design of Glendale, California who also designs for film companies, sporting teams and many other businesses including DreamWorks, McDonald’s, The Walt Disney Company, LEGOLAND, The NBA, HBO, FOX Kids Networks, and the “Game of Thrones” fantasy drama television series, to name a few.

“A timeless, yet very modern story of a young boy’s journey to a magical new world, filled with enchanting characters and thrilling adventure.  You owe yourself a trip to Spiritania.”

–           Victoria Lucas, Producer

“My nephew loved ANZARD so much I had to see what got him so excited.  After the first chapter I was hooked.  I normally don’t read this kind of fiction (fantasy) but the storyline was compelling enough to make me locate the author’s website and post this review.

Can’t wait to read Mr. Conroy’s next novel!”

–           D. Butler, Amazon Post

Justin’s story can even appeal to adults.  Says Mr. Conroy, “I want my readers to come away happier, more aware and enlightened…as a child I was aware of many things but I constantly invalidated that awareness.  I shouldn’t have.  Those gifts are precious.  Our inner awareness should be nurtured and cultivated, especially by parents and the child who has those gifts.  Maybe some part of Anzard will awaken those powers.”

Meet, Justin Cavell. The cast of characters include, Poofy (a magical Pixie),  Regal the Eagle, Turner the Turtle, Chumpah the Chipmunk, Billy the Goat, and an evil witch, named Nosefeen.  Then you have a planet named, Spiritainia, the Tribe of Truth, the Path of Possibilities. Justin, must find his parents and guide them safely home.

With self-discovery, using one’s inner voice, becoming more aware, adventure, helps to build self-esteem, and  enlightenment.

Compelling, exciting, and enchanting. Educators, parents, teachers, grandparents, and Librarians, this is a must read book. Picture “Alice in Wonderland” meets “Willie Wonky” and add a bit of “Harry Porter”, than you have the tale of “Anzard”. Well written with an interesting cast of characters and a modern day look at Children’s Books.

Devil in the Details (Book 4 in the Days of New series)

Set in the same world as Meg Collett’s bestselling End of Days series comes the darkly comedic paranormal serial spin-off series, Days of New.

“Clark was human, Nephil, Descendant. He was good and bad. He was the dirty magic of evil angels. He was still the pink-haired kid who had fallen into a cave and found a broken angel. He was a reaper and a savior. A lost boy who just wanted his friends to stop dying.”

Zarachiel is a broken holy angel who just wants to save people. The pain from his torn out wings reminds him everyday just how far the holy angels have fallen from grace. Like it is his burden to bear, he sets out to right their wrongs every day.

Clark wants to save the person he loves most in the world, but she doesn’t want his help or his love. Unlike Zarachiel, who saves everyone he can, Clark can’t seem to save even one person.

Peace can be as deadly as war, and someone won’t survive.

DEVIL IN THE DETAILS by Meg Collette is a unique Paranormal  Fantasy Romance.
“Set in the same world as Meg Collett’s bestselling End of Days series comes the darkly comedic paranormal serial spin-off series, Days of New.”

This was my first time reading this series, while you need to read the others in the series, it was not hard to catch up or follow.

I would strongly recommend reading the others in this series, first and in order. “Speaking of the Devil”, “Full of the Devil”, and “Better the Devil You Know”.

A unique, fast paced, quick read. The characters are interesting, but complex. The storyline is unique, the author does an excellent job of world building. Angels, both holy, and evil  are a part of this tale. As well as evil vs good.

Meet, Zarachiel, a broken holy angel, Cameille, Clark, and Michaela.

A Lost Boys tale with a few twists and turns. While, comedic at times it is a dark Paranormal as well. You will need tissues at times.

Well written, with vivid details. Fans of dark Comedic Paranormal romance will enjoy “Devil in the Details”. As well as, fans of Paranormal Romance, Angels, Demons and Fantasy Romance. An enjoyable read! Please be aware this is a new serial series.

Born and raised in the Rocky Mountains, Anne L. Parks has spent the last 25 years moving all over the United States. Married to the Navy – well a man in the Navy – Parks has lived in various places throughout the United States. Now she resides in the Washington D.C. area, and loves every minute. She has four children, and one spoiled German Shepard. 2013 marked her debut in publishing. Her first novel, Strangers, released on her 45th birthday. She was amazed at how many people fell in love with a story about two people dealing with grief, and finding love again. Abby and Bryce were the perfect couple to introduce Parks as an up-and-coming author. Since then, she has published the complete Return To Me series, which includes The Return, Return to Newport, Lauren’s Return, Returning Home, and RSVP: A Christmas Novella. This year, along with the anthology, she plans to publish another short story, along with the Demons trilogy. The first book, Of Demons and Stones, will release in July 2015. Always eager to talk to readers, so find her through the links below and say “hi.”

Annie Rose Welch:

Born and raised in New Orleans, Annie Rose Welch has a habit of shortening her words and telling long stories. She speaks with a southern flair and cooks with it too. At the tender age of twenty-one, she hitched up her wagons (took her first plane ride) and moved out west to the big shake (California). Her writing career began one sleepless night when she imagined a gorgeous woman and a man with maniacal hair floating above her like lightening bugs falling from the sky. Curious about them, their story, and why they were floating around in her head, she sat down and penned (typed) her first novel, Marigny Street. A dream come true for her, she hasn’t stopped writing since. She loves a damn good love story, always has, no matter what the genre. She is particularly moved by imperfect love that in its own unique way is perfect, the notion of love at first sight, soul mates, and things that are generally out of the norm. When she’s not writing she enjoys dabbling in photography and finding new, inspirational music to add to her collection. She currently (still) resides in the big shake (although her southern roots are calling her home) with her husband, daughter, and their two peculiar dogs, Boudreaux and Tabasco (who, call her crazy, bark with an accent).

Lashell Collins:

Lashell Collins is an American author of romantic suspense, paranormal and contemporary romance. She spent the last twenty years of her life working in veterinary clinics and garden centers in her home state of Ohio, and is now living her dream of writing full-time. She loves a good love story, whether she’s watching it on TV, reading it, or writing it. In food terms, she likes to think of her own stories as sweet and spicy – sweet romance with spicy sex scenes! Lashell walks to the beat of her own drum, but that’s okay ’cause she’s got a pretty good sense of rhythm. Basically, she’s a geeky, quirky, laid-back, rocker-loving kinda girl who’s married to a retired cop, motorcycle-riding, bad-boy alpha all her own, and she likes to write about sexy police officers, werewolves and rockstars – or some inventive combination of the three! When she’s not busy tapping away on her laptop and living vicariously through her characters, she can usually be found watching Grimm, rocking out to Slash, stuffing her face full of Chinese food, or riding on the back of her husband’s Harley-Davidson. Give her a shout, she loves to hear from readers!

Dina Haynes:

Dina Haynes is the pseudonym for an author who has always called the San Francisco Bay Area home, though she currently resides in Southern California. Raised in a single-parent family household with her mother and sister, she aptly refers to it as “the house of estrogen.” And, not to be forgotten, the one male energy that stood out in her upbringing was a pet Pomeranian-mix named Theodore. He is no longer with us, but his spirit lives on in her heart and on the pages. And every dog she harasses on the street.

Rusty discovered his passion for writing at an early age. When he was in the fourth grade he was given an assignment to write, illustrate, and bind a book. I always have a few favorite scenes when I’m writing a book. They aren’t always the big action scenes, or the even the first kiss. Sometimes they are the unplanned moments between characters that just happened. This excerpt is one of those little moments that shows so much about Jacquie and Felan. He’s always thinking of the big picture, the cause and what is best for everyone, but Jacquie reminds him that if he’s not around then none of that matters. Even though he is the Prince of Annwyn, he is still a person and is important in his own right.
In that respect Jacquie balances Felan, and in turn he reminds her that she is more than just a coffee shop waitress. She is his love and the future Queen of Annwyn. In his eyes she isn’t just a replaceable mortal woman and she never has been.
I think at some point everyone has experienced that moment of being swept up in the drama and forgotten to stop and think of the smaller things. If we take care of the little things, the big things will fall into place. While we may not all be fighting for our lives and Annwyn it’s something to remember.

Jacqui was awake when he walked back into the bedroom. “I thought you’d left already.”
“I wouldn’t go without a kiss for luck.” Or farewell. He knew the thought shouldn’t even be in his mind, but only a fool failed to look at all possible outcomes. He’d set the dice in motion, now he was waiting for them to land—hopefully in his favor.
Her lips curved, but it was forced. He knew exactly how she felt.
He picked up his clothing and started dressing. Plain, dark purple clothes—the winter purple that was almost black—the padded shirt, and then the silver chainmail. He didn’t bother with a cloak that could tangle around him. However, he put on two knives, one on his waist and one in his boot, plus his sword.
“What is Annwyn like in summer?”
Felan stopped and turned. “Like the most perfect day.” If he closed his eyes, he knew he could summon up the memory, even if he couldn’t feel the sun and heat on his skin. “Remember when we went hiking and had the picnic, how the place had felt deserted and yet full of life?” Birds and chipmunks and butterflies had been all around them even though the track had been less than twenty yards away, and yet it had felt as though they were the only people. It hadn’t been too hot or cold but sunny and with a light breeze. It was as close to perfect as he could ever remember experiencing in the mortal world. That had been the day he’d told Jacqui what he was. They’d spent hours talking about what that had meant, and he’d seen the wariness in her eyes fade to acceptance and understanding. He hoped she’d have that same chance here. “It’s a lot like that. Magical and yet ordinary. And it will last until we cease to rule.”
She frowned as if remembering, then nodded slowly. “And spring?”
“Spring will allow the leaves to grow, for flowers to bud, and the grass to return…but it won’t reach its full lushness and summer until our child is born. I am okay with that. There is no need to just live in summer. Perhaps a long spring is what the Court needs to remember not to take summer for granted.” They needed the long spring to adjust to their new roles and reformed relationship. He drew her into an embrace. “We can do this.”
“I know. I just…I just need to know what I am hoping for. What you are fighting for.”
“I’m fighting for everyone—you, the baby, me, Annwyn, and all of the mortal world.”
Jacqui drew back. “Just fight to live, Felan. Let the rest fall into place.”

Lieutenant Henry Gallant bannerWELCOME, ALAINA!

Character: Alaina Hepburn – Heroine of Lieutenant Henry Gallant

When I was a small child, the bright warm days of summer swore to me that each and every day would be lovely, forever. I believed that for quite a while – until my parent died.

I can remember waking up one night from a bad dream, reaching out for the edge of the bed, brushing away the covers and sitting up. I swung my legs over the side and onto the floor. There was enough light to see into the hallway to my parents’ bedroom. I stole quietly through the night into their room and climbed into bed next to my mother.

They tell me my mother was very beautiful. I inherited her yellow colored hair and blue eyes, but her parents had dark hair and eyes, so she always said we were misplaced on our family tree. I don’t really remember how she looked, other than what I’ve seen from a few poorly taken photos, but I remember how she made me feel. Curled up next to her, she would put her arms around me and hum a comforting lullaby; she made me feel—loved.

My father had known my mother only a short time before they were married. My father’s father was the only relative that remained. I was born shortly after we arrived here.

The house I live in was on the edge of town only a few gates down from my grandfather’s house. He worked the hardest to spoil me which I greatly enjoyed because I hadn’t reached school age, yet. He would play games and tell me stories until I was too tired or too hungry to remain any longer. Then I would go home and wait for the next morning when I could visit again.

It was my grandfather, James Hepburn, who told me my parents were dead.

He explained they had gone on an expedition to explore. It was their second voyage in a small boat with one other couple, mapping the islands and the location of resources. The first trip had been a resounding success and a great deal was learned.

On their second voyage, a horrible hurricane caught their small boat and they were lost at sea, or they were presumed lost, since their bodies were never recovered.

It would have been overwhelming loss if my grandfather had not been there to comfort and care for me. I’m ashamed to admit I struggled with grief, guilt, and depression. I had to let go of most of the painful feelings and move on. It was his kind gentle guidance that gave me a way to carry on. He taught me how to forgive myself for my mistakes and I developed my sense of purpose through his instruction. He was always there for me. I adored him, to say the least.

Of course, with only him to supervise me, I tended to run wild, finding my way into the woods and exploring on my own, trying to pick up the mantle of exploration that my parents had left. The result was a tom-boy existence, getting into lots of scrapes and fights with all the boys and girls my age.

One time, I was waiting motionless in a tree and almost dozed off while playing a game of hide and seek with several others. Before long, one of the boys spotted me, it was Liam, but he didn’t call out to expose me. Instead he came up and sat next to me. We remained hidden for hours while the others looked for us.

Thank you, for stopping by today!

Lieutenant Henry Gallant 2About the Book:

In an era of genetic engineering, Lieutenant Henry Gallant is the only Natural (non-genetically enhanced) officer left in the fleet. Many of his superiors, including rival Anton Neumann, have expressed concern he is not up to the challenge. However, his unique mental abilities have proven essential to the defense of the United Planets in its fight against the Titan invaders.

Serving on the first FTL prototype, the Intrepid, on its maiden voyage to Tau Ceti, Gallant finds a lost colony on the planet Elysium. Cyrus Wolfe and his son, manipulate planet politics against the democratic opposition led by James Hepburn and his granddaughter Alaina. Wolfe has allied himself with an ancient Artificial Intelligence which had lain dormant on the planet for millennia, but is now willing to protect the colonists against the Titans.

With Alaina’s help, Gallant discovers the ancient AI has a sinister ulterior motive and he matches his unique and exceptional mind against the complexity of machine intelligence to escape the ultimate trap and prevent the extermination of humanity.

In Lieutenant Henry Gallant, one man pits the naked human mind against the perspicacity of machine intelligence.

Top 5 Listby Serena Gilley

My Top 5 Magical creatures:

1. Mermaids--who didn’t pretend they were a mermaid as a kid flopping around in the local swimming pool or shivering on vacation at the lake? I stayed in the water until I was puckered like a prune and dreamed of being able to swim forever, weightless and sleek, exploring whatever magical mysteries surely must lie below. Now as an adult it’s even more fun to imagine that watery world with all sorts of wet and wonderful grown-up activities!

2. Fairies--what’s not to love? They fly, they sparkle, they glow in all different colors. And they have Fairy Dust! Fairies can make all your wishes come true in the most magical ways. It’s fun to imagine just what tantalizing things they might do with all of that glittering dust at their command.

3. Dragons–they’re Hot. Seriously sizzling, ragingly Hot. Huge, ancient, powerful, dangerous, and oh so beautiful to look at. Yeah, I love dragons. I’ll even admit to every now and then wondering what it would be like to have a dragon love me back…

4. Wood Spirits–is it possible these are real? I swear I’ve heard them, felt their allure as I’ve entered their realms. They live in wild areas, places where nature is allowed to run free and do what nature does best. Wood spirits can be vast like a forest, or tiny like the bits of moss that cling where life is just holding on. They thrive in their green, vibrant world by being unseen, yet felt all around, guiding our footsteps and manipulating our thoughts.

5. Shape-shifters–coolest supernatural power ever! I suppose it would be very handy to be a shifter who could look like anybody you wanted to, but usually shifters transform into some uber-cool real-life animal or even a fantastical creature. Being a shape-shifter would be super fun. Dating one of these guys would be even more fun because you’d have the best of both worlds: you’d have the hottest boyfriend ever AND you’d get to play with a really cute wolf puppy or snuggle with your own pet tiger.

Oh my, what magical creatures!! Who doesn’t love these creatures??
Thank you for your list!!

Serena Gilley grew up reading fantasy and fairy tales, and believing there was a distinct possibility that both of them were real. Somewhere. Even all these years later, Serena’s belief in magic and mystery hasn’t diminished. In fact, She is living out her own happily-ever-after with a handsome prince in a beautiful castle, taming dragons and granting wishes every day.  Okay, so the prince is a regular guy, the dragons are really just teenagers, and the wishes she grants are as spectacular as frozen pizza on Friday night, but it’s a fantasy world just the same.

Rowena and the Viking Warlord by Melodie Campbell is an interesting Paranormal Romance Time Travel. Book 3 in the Land’s End series. See, “Rowena Through the Wall” and “Rowena and the Dark Lord”. While, I would suggest reading the other two in this Trilogy, it can be read as a stand alone.

In this one Rowena, is more mature, as is the other characters, Lars, Cedric, Kendra, Gareth and Thane. Rowena  finds herself in more trouble. In this one we have more twists and turns, more funny bits, the sexy parts are sexier than in the previous stories, with serious bits too.  It is a well written tale of time travel, romance, and adventure with great character and world building. A sexy, funny romp through time! An enjoyable read! Received for an honest review.
