THE AMAZING SUE-ELLEN WELFONER…
THE SEDUCTION OF A HIGHLAND WARRIOR
**All images are with the author’s permission**
Three proud warriors locked in a struggle for victory. Three beguiling women united in their vow to restore peace.
At the King’s request, chieftain Alasdair MacDonald has sworn to preserve the peace in the Glen of Many Legends. Though he’s handsome and fearless, his warrior’s heart belongs only to his beloved land—until the fair sister of his oldest enemy shatters his defenses, branding his skin with a single touch, and sealing his fate with one stolen kiss . . .
Lady Marjory Mackintosh will do anything to unite the warring clans, even seduce Alasdair MacDonald. She has loved the rugged Highlander since she first saw him and now, as temptation leads to surrender, Marjory dares to possess him, body and soul. But a dangerous new menace enters the Glen, and he will stop at nothing to strip Alasdair of his honor—and the only woman who can claim his heart.

Former flight attendant, Sue-Ellen Welfonder, has three grand passions: Scottish medieval history, the paranormal, and animals. All can be found in her romances. Of Scottish descent, she lived in Europe for fifteen years and still makesfrequent visits to Scotland.
~~SO,WITHOUT FURTHER ADO, HERE IS THE AMAZING AND TALENTED: SUE-ELLEN WELFONDER and an interview with Alasdair led by Devorgilla…..~~
I’m so excited to be here today to celebrate the release of Seduction of a Highland Warrior, which concludes my Highland Warriors trilogy. WendyK and I go way back and so I wanted to do something special for this visit.
Something fresh and fun that hasn’t appeared anywhere else.
Many readers will have already seen the book’s blurb and reviews. Perhaps you’ve seen excerpts. As Barnes and Noble shipped weeks early, maybe you’ve even read the book.
I’ve been writing for many years, so you’ll likely also have seen my answers to the usual Q&As: “Why do you love Scotland?” (Scottish family background, a lifetime of visiting Scotland, and why not? There’s no place more special.) “Why do you write Scottish-set books?” (See above. Or know that I believe writers should only write what they’re passionate about, otherwise the words are just ink on the page.) “Why do you think Highlanders are so sexy?” (If you don’t know, you’re dead or hopeless.) Kilt or burr? (The latter because it remains to thrill and melt you after the kilt is removed.) Do you eat Haggis? (Yes, and I LOVE it.) And so on and so forth.
So because this is a Big Day, I’m skipping the usual and kicking it up a notch by having Devorgilla, one of my all-time favorite characters, interview Alasdair MacDonald, the hero of Seduction of a Highland Warrior.
Nothing like letting a hot Highland hero speak for himself, h’mmm?
And who better than old Dev to ask the questions we’d love answered?
To those of you not familiar, Devorgilla is a cailleach. A meddlesome but well-meaning crone who wields mischief and magic in many of my books.
Before I let her bump me off the page, here’s the official series description:
Highland Warriors Trilogy
Three proud warriors locked in a struggle for victory.
Three beguiling women united in their vow to restore peace.
And my own one-sentence summary for the book…
Seduction of a Highland Warrior:
A proud Highland chieftain returns to his beloved glen only to find that he still desires the woman he’s tried to forget and that claiming her is more likely to destroy them than quench their forbidden passion.
Now I’m backing away because I can see Devorgilla stepping into my office, her gait most determined for a woman of her great age. She has a wicked glint in her eye, so I’m sure she has some tough questions for poor, unsuspecting Alasdair.
Dev: (rubbing her hands) So-o-o, laddie! If there be aught you could say to our Lady Scribe, what would it be?
Alasdair: (frowns immediately) Och, well, as a Highland chieftain, I’ll no’ be speaking ill of a lady. A man has a reputation to keep, see you? I will say I didn’t appreciate her writing me into a series that made my two greatest foes into heroes. Especially as I was the last hero to receive a book. At times, it was right painful watching my enemies swaggering about, winning their ladies’ hearts, and reaping so much glory.
Dev: (glances at me with a really evil smile) She did make you wait a good long while, didn’t she? Tossing your heroine, Marjory ~ Lady Norn ~ Mackintosh, into your path in book one, Sins of a Highland Devil, and then not letting you have her until now. Cruel, that was. (nods her head, sympathetically)
Alasdair: That wasn’t the half of what she did to me. Here I thought I could use the time between books to woo Norn and perhaps even seduce her. (he glances at me, as if he expects me to be shocked) At the least, I would’ve enjoyed stealing a few long, deep kisses. But nae, what does our Lady Scribe do?
Sent me away, she did. Wriggled her pen and made me see that my galleys were getting old and that I needed a new, stout warring ship. Freshly-made, sleek, and swift, the likes of which required me to set off on a long journey to a shipbuilder in Inverness.
Then, when I would’ve returned to my beloved Glen of Many Legends, she gave me business to attend along the way, aye keeping me busy.
Norn thought I’d forgotten her, which I’ll admit I tried to do. So when our Lady Scribe finally was ready to write our story, Norn was more than a little disgruntled with me. Truth be told, she was furious. All that because of our Lady Scribe. She claimed her editor would fuss if we weren’t at odds.
Dev: (pats his arm, commiserating) I can assure you she’s done worse to other heroes. Indeed, I’m thinking she gave you quite the grand entrance at one point in your book, then when you defended Lady Marjory, oops, I mean your beloved Norn, against a pack of ravening Vikings.
See here, how proud and braw she wrote you…
A strange silence fell across the strand as the ranks of spear-carrying warriors parted to allow one tall, stern-faced man to stride into view.
It was Alasdair.
Marjory’s breath caught, her heart slamming against her ribs. Not since the Glen of Many Legend’s trial by combat had he looked so fierce. Every inch a great warlord and hero, his hand rested on his sword hilt and he scowled his displeasure as he looked up and down the phalanx of Northmen. He’d clearly come to challenge them.
He’d slung his plaid over his broad, muscled shoulders and the day’s pale light glanced off the amber pommel-stone of his sword. He appeared as much a lover of battle as Kendrew, his cold eyes and hard-set jaw warning he wasn’t a man to show mercy if pushed too far.
And this appeared to be such a time.
Now that was a worthy description of you, eh? (Dev winks at him)
Alasdair: (folds his arms, still looking none too pleased) The lady plays favorites, Dev. Surely even you will admit that? Did you no’ see that she just had to include my arch-rival, Kendrew, in a scene that should have been all mine?
Dev: Tsk, tsk. (she wags a finger at him) Kendrew is Norn’s brother.
Alasdair: Aye, well, so he is. (glances aside, his lips twitching) I did manage to let him know what I think of him. We bloodied a few pages, for sure. (raises arms over head and cracks his knuckles) A man needs a good fight now and then. At least our Lady Scribe didn’t deny me that.
Dev: (her demeanor turning innocent) She gave you more than that, laddie. There were times I saw smoke and flames rising from her keyboard, so heated were some of the scenes she penned for you and Lady Marjory.
Alasdair: We’ll no’ be talking about those times. (fixes Dev with his most stern, narrow-eyed look) It’s bad enough our Lady Scribe’s readers will be privy to such things. We’ll no’ be airing them here, on the Internet.
Dev: Pity, that. Readers would’ve surely enjoyed those scenes. I did-
Alasdair: They weren’t scenes, they were real. And you are way too old to have been peeking at them.
Dev: Humpf. (flicks at her sleeve, pats her hair) A lady is never too old for romance, and the ‘good bits.’ (smiles and preens a bit) She did write you as an extraordinary hero. Didn’t RT make you a K.I.S.S. Award Hero? Now that, was something, eh?
Alasdair: (actually blushes) Aye, well. I’ll no’ argue with you about that. I’ve no’ wish to waken as a newt or toad on the morrow. (that last, spoken under his breath)
Dev: (cackles, looking pleased and proving she heard him) I save such delights as toad-and-newt spells for our Lady Scribe’s enemies. You’ve naught to worry about, laddie. Long as you continue to keep Lady Marjory happy, even after the last page of your book.
Alasdair: (stands taller, puts back his shoulders) That I shall do. Beyond the book’s end and for all my days. Even after them, truth be told.
Dev: (she nods, glances at me) Then all is good.
Alasdair: So it is. And I’m away now, back to the Glen of Many Legends and my Norn. I dinnae much care for these modern times. Readers wishing to see more of me can buy our Lady Scribe’s book. I’d rather entertain them there than here in a place I can scarce pronounce, the In-ter-net. My Highlands are a much finer place, for sure!
Sue-Ellen here (aka Lady Scribe): And so Alasdair strides from my office, disappearing back into his book, or I should say into the Highland mist. Devorgilla vanishes, too. But she leaves in swirl of blue sparkles, a whiff of peat smoke and clean, cold air lingering in her wake.
As I’m on my own again, I hope you’ve enjoyed visiting with old Dev and Alasdair. Thank you so much for joining me to celebrate this new release. WendyK and April, hugs and love to you both for inviting me. I loved being here. And I know Devorgilla and Alasdair did, too. (wink, wink)
Wishing everyone Highland Magic!
